– Cleaning for COVID

Our facilities, programs, and timetables are designed to make it easier for you to develop positive training habits for a healthier, happier you, no matter what your situation. During the past year we’ve made some major improvements to our facilities to cater for everything COVID related and to keep our members safe during uncertain times.

Keeping our members safe during COVID has been our primary focus this past year and we’ve embarked on a mission to keep our gym clean and COVID free. When lockdowns eased and our facilities re-opened, our members were armed with new cleaning procedures for wiping down equipment and maintaining safe distances when working out. To ensure all members could continue to be healthy during their visits to the gyms our members took to the new rules with gusto, wiping down benches and equipment after every use. In fact, the gym looks and smells amazing all the time, so kudos to everyone for their understanding and diligence in helping keep everyone safe.

– Renovations

Over the course of last year we made the decision to renovate parts of the Y Fitness Bundaberg gym located in Quinn Street, to provide a better experience for our group classes. If you can remember, the group space was enclosed by half walls that often made noise travel throughout the whole building. This would often make noise a considerable problem for many of the other programs that were happening in other parts of the building. By enclosing the walls all the way to the ceiling and soundproofing the room we’ve managed to keep external noise to a minimum.

The group space now boasts excellent sound quality, enabling the music and instructors voices to be heard clearly during group classes. It’s also improved the temperature in the room as it’s now fully enclosed making the air-conditioning more effective and cooler for our members. We hope to continue to add more features to this space in the coming year so keep an eye out for some more improvements as they happen!

 – New Equipment

Here at the YMCA Bundaberg we provide a welcoming and friendly environment where people of all ages and fitness levels can work towards their health and fitness goals. In the next few months we are looking forward to adding new state-of-the-art gym and fitness equipment to the gym floor to help you achieve your goals. New treadmills, bikes and elliptical trainers are on the way. They all have touch screens and new built-in programs to add more options and the ability to really tailor workouts specifically for members health and fitness goals.

– Health Checks for Members

Did you know that as a Y Fitness member we offer free health consultation and personalized programs continually throughout your membership? These health checks are part of your membership and enable you to adjust your training program as your goals or needs change. We offer these assessments every 6-8 weeks to ensure your program is tailored to your fitness level and to keep you motivated. One of our qualified staff members will run through your health and fitness goals and design your program which may include recommendations for specific classes, exercises, or a combination of both. Our team is dedicated to giving you the right advice and guidance plus making sure that getting fit and healthy is an enjoyable and fun experience.
